Sunny and cool at the wharf this morning. Phytoplankton biomass increased this week and the assemblage shifted back to mostly dinoflagellates. Prorocentrum and Ceratium were the most abundant. No Pseudo-nitzschia were observed in the net tow and none were detected in the probed counts. Alexandrium counts tripled from last week, but the cell concentration is still low.

The water this morning was stinky. It was sunny with wispy clouds and no breeze. The surface of the water had rolling waves. The water this week was a lighter green than last week with a visibility of 3.0m. Dinoflagellates dominated the water column. Ceratium and Prorocentrum were common. Ditylum and Chaetoceros were present. The HAB species that were observed in the water this morning included Pseudo-nitzschia, Alexandrium, Dinophysis, Cochlodinium, and Akashiwo sanguinea.
