– Pseudo-nitzschia: Rare
– Alexandrium: Rare
– Dinophysis: Rare
– Margalefidinium: Rare
* Impressions *
Another sunny morning at the wharf this week with a bait ball moving in and out of the sampling area. The phytoplankton assemblages shifted to mostly dinoflagellates this week and Akashiwo was the most abundant. Phytoplankton diversity was high this week as well. Pseudo-nitzschia were both seriata and delicatissima size and no P. australis or P. multiseries were detected in the probed counts. Alexandrium concentrations were similar to last week.

The wharf this morning was cloudy and breezy. The surface of the water was relatively calm. The water this week was more green than two weeks ago with a visibility of 3.5m. Chlorophyll increased from two weeks ago. Diatoms dominated the water column. Chaetoceros was abundant (>=50%) in the water. Guinardia, Eucampia, Akashiwo, Prorocentrum, and Oligiotrich were present (1-9%). The HAB species that were observed in the water this morning included Pseudo-nitzschia, Alexandrium, Dinophysis, Cochlodinium, and Akashiwo sanguinea.
