Another cool and overcast morning at the wharf. Phytoplankton biomass increased this week and diatoms were the dominant group. Skeletonema was the most abundant genus. No Pseudo-nitzschia were observed in the net tow and no P.australis or P. multiseries were detected in the probed counts. Alexandrium concentrations increased this week.

The wharf this morning was chilly and cloudy. The surface of the water was calm and glassy. The water this week was greener than last week with a visibility of 5.0 m. Chlorophyll increased from last week. Diatoms dominated the water column. Skeletonema and Chaetoceros were common (10%-49%) in the water. Thalassiosira, Guinardia, Pseudo-nitzschia, Thalassionema, Asterionellopsis, and Eucampia were present (1%-9%). The HAB species that were observed in the water this morning included Pseudo-nitzschia, Alexandrium, Dinophysis and Akashiwo sanguinea.
