Cold and overcast at the wharf this morning, there was some rain overnight with more in the forecast. Net tow still had a fair amount of detritus/debris. Phytoplankton biomass increased this week, but diversity decreased. The phytoplankton assemblage shifted back to diatoms and was mostly Thalassiosira. No Pseudo-nitzschia were observed this week.

* Impressions *
The wharf this morning was mostly cloudy and chilly with a slight breeze. There was not much in the water since it rained the night before. The surface water was relatively calm. The water this week was slightly greener than last week with a visibility of > 5.0 m. Visually chlorophyll was about the same as last week. Diatoms dominated the water column. Pleurosigma was abundant in the water. Thalassiosira and Detonula were present. The HAB species that were observed in the water this morning was Pseudo-nitzschia.
