* Impressions *
Sunny and cool at the wharf. A lot of bird and mammal activity around the bait ball hanging around in the area. Phytoplankton biomass increased this week and the net tow was mostly dinoflagellates (very few diatoms). Ceratium and Prorocentrum were the most abundant this week. No Pseudo-nitzschia were observed and Alexandrium counts increased 10-fold from last week.

* Impressions *
The wharf this morning was beautiful but chilly with strong winds. Light pink clouds were hugging the horizon. The surface of the water was choppy. The water this week was a slightly lighter green than last week with a visibility of 4.5m. Dinoflagellates dominated the water column. Ceratium and Prorocentrum were blooming and common in the water. Akashiwo was present. The HAB species that were observed in the water this morning included Pseudo-nitzschia, Alexandrium, Dinophysis, and Akashiwo sanguinea.
