Another beautiful sunny morning at the wharf and the diatoms are back. Net tow assemblage shifted to mostly diatoms this week and phytoplankton biomass increased. Eucampia was the most abundant. Pseudo-nitzschia were seriata and delicatissima size and the P. multiseries counts increased an order of magnitude. Alexandrium counts decreased this week.

The wharf this morning was sunny without a cloud in the sky and a slight breeze. There was a lot of activity on the wharf. The horizon was hazy. The water this week was the same color as last week with a visibility of 3.0m. Chlorophyll increased from last week. Diatoms dominated the water column. Thalassiosira, Guinardia, Pseudo-nitzschia, and Eucampia were common (bloomed). Detonula, Lauderia, Lioloma were present. The HAB species that were observed in the water this morning included Pseudo-nitzschia, Alexandrium, Dinophysis, Cochlodinium, and Akashiwo sanguinea.
