Beautiful sunny morning at the wharf. Phytoplankton biomass increased this week and the net tow was mostly dinoflagellates. Akashiwo remained the most abundant, but there were noticeably more diatoms in the sample. Pseudo-nitzschia were seriata size and chains were 3-4 cells. P. multiseries was the only Pn species detected in the probed counts. Alexandrium counts increased an order of magnitude again this week.

The wharf this morning was sunny without a cloud in the sky! The water was smelly. The surface of the water was covered with foam and bubbles. There was no wind. The water this week was greener than last week with a visibility of 3.5m. Chlorophyll increased from last week. Dinoflagellates dominated the water column. Akashiwo was abundant. Guinardia and Polykrikos were common. Dinophysis and Prorocentrum were present. The HAB species that were observed in the water this morning included Pseudo-nitzschia, Alexandrium, Dinophysis, Cochlodinium, and Akashiwo sanguinea.
