Sunny and clear at the wharf this am. Phytoplankton biomass in the net tow was similar to last week, but there was significantly less detritus/debris. The phytoplankton assemblage remained a mix of diatoms and dinoflagellates and Akashiwo was the most abundant. Alexandrium were detected in the probed cell counts. Pseudo-nitzschia were seriata size and only P. multiseries were detected this week.

The wharf this morning was sunny but chilly with a slight breeze. The sky was clear. On the surface of the water there was slight detritus (mostly from algae). The surface of the water also had medium sized rolling waves. Directly in front of my sampling site was a platform boat unloading equipment. The water this week was greener than last week with a visibility of 4.5m. Chlorophyll increased from last week. Dinoflagellates dominated the water column. Akashiwo was abundant in the water. Lingulodinium was common. Prorocentrum and Ceratium were present. The HAB species that were observed in the water this morning included Pseudo-nitzschia, Alexandrium, Dinophysis, Cochlodinium, and Akashiwo sanguinea.
