– Pseudo-nitzschia: None
– Alexandrium: None
– Dinophysis: Rare
– Margalefidinium: Common
* Impressions *
Another cool morning with a marine layer out at the wharf. While the surface was relatively calm, the under current pulled my gear towards the piling. After weeks of Eucampia dominating the net tow, the phytoplankton assemblage has shifted. Dinoflagellate abundance increased, but diatoms remain the most abundant. Thalassiosira (beefy cells) and Skeletonema were the most abundant this week. No Pseudo-nitzschia were observed this week and Alexandrium counts were similar to last week.

The wharf was cloudy and the surface water was relatively calm. There were several boats docked at my site. The water this week was a slightly darker green than last week with a visibility of 4.5m. Chlorophyll decreased from last week. Diatoms dominated the water column. Eucampia, Chaetoceros, Detonula, and Lauderia were common in the water. Meanwhile Thalassiosira was present. The HAB species that observed in the water this morning included Pseudo nitzschia, Dinophysis, Cochlodinium, and Akashiwo sanguinea.
