Sunny and cold at the wharf with a bait ball in the sampling area.  Phytoplankton biomass increased dramatically from last week.  Net tow was mostly dinoflagellates and Margalefidinium was the most abundant again.  Alexandrium counts increased again this week.

This morning the dock was very chilly. The sky was pink and reflected against the few clouds that were in the sky. The dock had no fog and there was clear visibility. Small bubbles formed on the surface of the water while sampling. There were a lot of waves on the surface of the water from the wind. The color of the water this week was the same color as last week but visibility decreased to 4m. Chlorophyll slightly increased from last week. Prorocentrum and Akashiwo sanguinea were common and present respectively. The HAB species that appeared in the water this morning included P. nitzschia, Alexandrium, Dinophysis, Cochlodinium, and Akashiwo sanguinea.
