– Pseudo-nitzschia: None
– Alexandrium: Rare
– Dinophysis: Common
– Margalefidinium: Common

Overcast and raining at the wharf this morning. Lots of kelp wrack and debris in the sampling area along with a bait ball. Net tow had a lot of detritus/debris and phytoplankton biomass increased this week. Dinoflagellates remain the most abundant led by Prorocentrum again this week. Alexandrium counts held steady (from 2wks ago, no counts last week).

This morning the wharf had relatively clear skies and the sun kept me warm from the slight breeze. There was no fog or mist. On the dock there were puddles of water likely from yesterday’s rainfall. While sampling, there was a medium/large platform boat loading in front of me. The surface of the water had large rolling waves. In addition, there was some detritus (leaves) on the surface of the water. The water this week was a slightly darker green than last week with a visibility of 6.0m. Chlorophyll significantly increased from last week. Both ceratium spp. and P. nitzschia were present in the water column. The HAB species that were observed included P. nitzschia, Alexandrium, Dinophysis, Cochlodinium, and Akashiwo sanguinea.
